Tee-sted 4: Birdies and Birds in Flight over Kerteminde
On Møllebakken Hill lies the Johannes Larsen Museum – one of Denmark’s most beautiful museums and, for many visitors, a true hole-in-one that instantly relaxes the shoulders and opens the senses.
Here, you step directly into the well-preserved and atmospheric artist’s home of Alhed and Johannes Larsen.
Our exhibitions always celebrate both art and nature. Be sure to stop by the Coffee House, where both taste and atmosphere are on par. Just like a hundred years ago, you’ll be welcomed into a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The museum is closely connected to its garden, landscape, and the beach just below. Johannes Larsen, perhaps Kerteminde’s most famous native, was rightly known as “the bird painter.”
At Sybergland, northwest of Kerteminde – where Larsen once found his motifs – the swings of golf clubs and the beats of bird wings now unfold side by side.
