ArtWeek Kerteminde invites you to spend a full week surrounded by art, creativity and experiences. Here you can explore artistic processes, meet artists at work and try different materials and techniques yourself.
ArtWeek is for both children and adults and no experience is needed to take part – only curiosity and a desire to experience art up close.
Programme for ArtWeek 2026
Saturday 20 June – Opening
Start ArtWeek with an artistic opening that sets the tone for the entire week.
Opening and performance at 15.30: Experience the opening performance with Inger Birkestrøm Juul and model Ditte Christina Lustrup and see ArtWeek unfold from the very beginning.
Sunday 21 June – Raku firing drawing and children’s creative activities
Raku firing in the courtyard at 13.00: Get close to the fire and experience how ceramics are transformed through the raku process where heat and glaze create unique surfaces.
Draw your travel memories at 14.30 (meeting point Café Frits): Take part in a guided drawing workshop with artist Hans Frydendal and turn your impressions into sketches.
Demonstration of Tri Art in Anexet at 16.30: See how professional art materials are used in painting when Michael Morild demonstrates techniques and possibilities.
Creative workshop for children in the hall (all day – every day): Let children draw paint and create freely in an open workshop space with guidance along the way and the opportunity to return throughout the week.
Monday 22 June – Workshops and craftsmanship
Try linocut printing in the hall (all day – every): Visit the print station in the hall and make your own test prints and follow your development throughout the week.
Raku firing in the courtyard at 13.00: Watch ceramics come to life through fire and smoke.
Model small faces at 14.00: Shape your own small sculptures in clay and work with expression form and imagination.
Linocut workshop in Rustikken at 14.30: Cut print and experiment with linocut techniques guided by an artist.
Tuesday 23 June – Casting, croquis and photography
Bronze casting in the courtyard at 12.00: Get close to traditional bronze casting and see how sculptures are created through heat and craftsmanship.
Croquis drawing in the hall at 13.30: Draw from a live model and practice observing movement and form.
Staged photography on the 1st floor at 15.00: Step into a creative photographic setting and experience how images are built.
Wednesday 24 June – Bookbinding, performance and music
Raku firing in the courtyard at 12.00: Experience artists working together with ceramics in the raku technique.
Coptic bookbinding at 14.00: Try a historic bookbinding technique and create your own book from start to finish.
Performance walk at 15.00: Join a guided artistic walk through the grounds where performance and surroundings merge.
Musical pause in the hall at 19.30: End the day with calm and presence through handpan music.
Thursday 25 June – Creative experiments
Model small faces at 12.00: Continue working with clay and create expressive small sculptures.
Scrolling writing workshop at 12.30: Write short texts inspired by your observations and experiences.
Coptic bookbinding at 15.00: Continue working on bookbinding and create a personal book.
Friday 26 June – Workshops
Staged photography at 14.00: Take part in creating photographic compositions and observe how images are made.
Linocut workshop in Rustikken at 14.30: Continue experimenting with graphic print techniques.
Saturday 27 June – Closing day
End ArtWeek after a week filled with art experiences encounters and creative exploration.
